We already choose our favorite authors, here is a brief description of their life, work and their participation on this long-awaited event:
Marian Broderick is a second-generation Irish writer and editor. She will be presenting her latest book Bold Brilliant and Bad: Irish Women from History. She will also be part of Ireland’s Inspiring Women panel where they will tackle the history of Irish women and how they can inspire modern feminist movements.
Chris Agee is a poet, essayist, photographer, and editor. His third collection of poems, Next to Nothing, was shortlisted in Britain for the 2009 Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry. On this edition of Dublin's Book Festival Chris will be presenting Blue Sandbar Moon. The format will be an informal reading and conversation between the audience and the author followed by a free convivial wine reception upstairs in the Banquet Hall.
John Boyne was born in Ireland in 1971. He is best known for his 2006 multi-award-winning book The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas, John’s other novels, notably The Absolutist and A History of Lonelieness, have been widely praised and are international bestsellers. Most recently, The Heart’s Invisible Furies was a Richard & Judy Bookclub word-of-mouth bestseller. John will be present on the Dublin City Public Libraries Readers’ Day on November 17th, 2018.
